In fact, I just put up my post for today, and it was all about the Trail class! :)

Trail is fun and a challenge for many horses and riders.

We have a Gambler's Choice Jackpot Trail class coming up at our next show in September, with all sorts of wacky obstacles. Some of us are left wondering, so how am I going to train some of these horses for that Trail class, we don't even have some of those obstacles available! That's where hubby comes in, hehehe!!SFTShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14155830531219245152noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1891367666970376785.post-61233034272527979312009-08-10T19:42:36.962-07:002009-08-10T19:42:36.962-07:00Trail classes seem to be similar to what was calle...Trail classes seem to be similar to what was called "Handy Hunter" classes back in the '60s and '70s. We use to have to do all sorts of fool things, open and close a gate with out dismounting, trot over a log, lower a rail of a fence while mounted, back a "L" shape, dismount lead your horse a few steps then remount, do a in and out on a angle, do a flying change of lead in the air, all kinds of weird things that were suppose to mimic what was likely to happen in the hunt field. Never did though. I never did any of those things in the hunt field.Kaedehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12771580530132454160noreply@blogger.com
